Since its launch SmartVista has developed into a rich and mature solution superior to most of its competitors in terms of breadth of functionality. We have been keen to ensure that this growth should not come at the expense of performance and flexibility maintaining the key design principles that were laid in SmartVista foundation from the very beginning:
Therefore SmartVista customers can always be sure that they can easily expand or extend the solution as the need arises by adding new functionality and/or increasing throughput capacity. In the perennial dilemma of choosing between best-of-breed and integrated solutions, SmartVista has taken the best of both worlds. Its two main components, SmartVista Front-End and SmartVista Back-Office are optimised to deliver different requirements that exist in real-time transaction processing environments and in the batch oriented Back-Office domain. SmartVista Front-End is a ‘lean and mean’ real-time transaction engine that can be scaled up or out as needed through unlimited process parallelisation capabilities and efficient communications infrastructure. SmartVista Back-Office, on the other hand, is built with focus on flexibility and intelligence, to minimize errors and difficulties in the process of collecting and analysing customer information and matching transactions, and to offer maximum freedom and minimum time to market when configuring services and products. SmartVista architecture is designed to allow multiple instances of computing and communication processes running simultaneously, thus enabling optimal load-balancing and maximum throughput. SmartVista fully utilises the high availability and fault-tolerance options offered by the underlying Unix and IBM i5/OS operating systems, Oracle and IBM DB2 databases and certified hardware platforms: IBM System i and System p, HP Integrity, HP 9000 č HP Superdome, Fujitsu-Siemens PRIMEPOWER, Stratus ft Server T Series and others. SmartVista has been built and designed with the future in perspective. BPC continues to invest in product development and testing to expand functionality, extend the platform range and achieve new performance benchmarks. In addition to our own R&D resources, we sponsor the software development laboratory at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, one of Russia’s leading technical Universities, and also conduct joint activities with our major platform partners, such as IBM, HP, Fujitsu-Siemens and others at their competence centres. BPC always enables its customers to take full advantage of SmartVista’s excellent design, so we have taken efforts to make sure that the services we provide with and around SmartVista are at par with our product’s quality. BPC runs its projects based on PMI methodology in full compliance with ISO 9001-2001 quality standard, as attested by a certificate from SGS International Certification Services (SGS ICS). Once the solution is installed, customers receive SLA based support, with 24x7 Help Desk, on-line service request entry and tracking facilities, remote access or on-site support and dedicated support officers.
