Security Bank Corporation's wholly owned subsidiary, SB Cards Corporation (the exclusive franchise owner of Diners Club in the Philippines), won the award Diners Club BEST FRANCHISE IN ASIA PACIFIC for the second time in 2006, having won the same in 2004 for its strong overall performance. Security Bank Cards Corporation Chairman Belen C. Lim, received the award from Diners Club International Asia Pacific head Bryan Ericson during the awarding ceremony of Diners Club Philippines Best Franchise for Asia Pacific 2006 in Makati, Philippines in january this year.

The award ceremony was attended by key industry figures, partners and customers of the bank as well as Frederick Dy, chairman of Security Bank Corp, and Alberto S. Villarosa , president and CEO of Security Bank Corp. Rajan Narayan, Director Asia Pacific of BPC participated in the awards ceremony on behalf of BPC. SB cards Corporation runs BPC's SmartVista Solution to issue, manage and process payment transactions of Cards in Philippines.

A statement from the bank stated that "This year’s win can be attributed to several key success factors such as the consistent net card growth through to October 2006, a robust sales growth also through October 2006, a consistent stream of new products and features that helped enhance & revitalize the card, expanded merchant acceptance, a well-thought off above-the-line and below-the-line mix of program plus a complete focus across the business to deliver high quality service".
