Post event report

April 02, 2007

BPC Banking Technologies, the recognized provider of SmartVista e-payment solution for the global financial industry, has just participated in the recently concluded Cards and Payment Asia Pacific Conference held in Hong Kong from 19 to 21 March 2007. The event was a perfect opportunity to increase the Asia Pacific market awareness of the SmartVista suite of products and to showcase its features and capabilities to delegates from the region.

The Director of Asia Pacific Operations, Rajan Narayan presented a discourse on "Responsive Technology based Strategies to Drive Profitability". To sum it up, he remarked; “In today’s ever demanding and changing world only change is constant, technology has always been on the forefront of change and it is how we use them to our advantage, just to change for change doesn't help, we look at how technologies can help in achieving profitability through strategies that respond to change”.

Rajan discussed the issues that are so familiar to banks’ business and marketing managers, which is time-to-market of revenue generating initiatives, or implementing compliances. In many ways these initiatives so crucial to competitive advantage are usually delayed or scuttled because of technology not being able to respond within the ever demanding window of opportunity.  With proven industrial strength Open Systems Standards solution, flexibilities such as fully parameterized functions, relational database and ease of use from any location, anytime, solutions such as SmartVista, allow financial organizations to respond with technology based strategies to drive profitability.

The audience response was positive and affirming as more delegates enquired at the exhibition stand about SmartVista and conveyed similar sentiments they encounter in the workplace.  Those delegates that had opportunity to learn more about SmartVista appreciated the solutions ability to deploy and create new products which is a distinctive mark from legacy systems in terms of maintenance cost and time to market, as well as from other solutions in terms of processing power and performance.

“Essentially it was a very worthwhile event for the delegates in acquiring valuable industry insights and experiences from peers and experts.  BPC had the opportunity to leverage in terms of strengthening awareness, visibility and demand generation in the Asia Pacific market. The market is now becoming aware that SmartVista comes out strong from its success in Europe and CIS countries and that BPC is serious in becoming a global player, having offices in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. It is logical to believe that very soon SmartVista will be a buzzword in the payments industry”, commented Rajan.

The event was attended by card operations heads, product managers, as well IT managers from various parts of Asia Pacific region, including China, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Sri-Lanka, and even from the Middle East. During the event, BPC also established new opportunities for alliance with other vendors and solution providers from different regions.

Cards and Payments Asia Pacific is an annual event that addresses different aspects of maximizing the profitability of card portfolios of all types, including new products, technologies and innovations, cross-selling, risk management, and outsourcing for various cards including debit, credit, and prepaid. This year’s agenda focused on helping card executives to increase the revenue potential of their cards business – and arming them with the latest, best practice strategies to maximize profits and minimize risk in this increasingly lucrative market.
